Storage of Mobility Aids
1. POLICY STATEMENT
As a result of the Ontario Regulation made under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, Integrated Accessibility Standards (Part IV, Section 48) . Every conventional transportation service provider shall, if safe storage is possible, ensure that mobility aids and mobility assistive devices are stored in the passenger compartments of its transportation vehicles within reach of the person with the disability who uses the aid or device.
No conventional transportation service provider shall charge a fee for the storage of a mobility aid or a mobility assistive device.
Passengers are responsible for the safe storage of their personal belongings. However, upon request, Quinte Access drivers will assist passengers with the storage of mobility aids/assistive devices at no additional charge. Mobility aids/assistive devices and other personal belongings must not block the entrances/exits, aisles or emergency exits of the vehicles.
2.01 Driver assists with the loading, storage and unloading of mobility aids/devices upon request.
